MRS provides an interdisciplinary perspective that no other organization offers. Students hail from the Materials Science and Engineering Program, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Physics, Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Structural Engineering, Chemistry, Scripps, and Bioengineering. If your research involves materials, then MRS is for you!
Key advantages of becoming a member of UCSD MRS include network opportunities with materials researchers, reduced meeting registration rates and limited travel reimbursement, interaction with students interested in varied materials research, access to MRS video archives, and free MRS Bulletins. Additionally, charter members can easily become involved with leadership roles and committee formation.
All you need to do to join our student chapter is to enroll for membership in the national MRS organization. Student membership is only $30/year, and the online membership form can be accessed here. The Society's national website provides additional in-depth information about the organization. You can also email your questions to the UCSD MRS President Christian Deck for insight from a fellow UCSD student.
