Bio
Dr. Alessandro Marinoni holds an M.Sc. in Nuclear
Engineering from Politecnico di Milano, Italy, and a Ph.D. in Physics
from EPFL (École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne), Switzerland.
Before joining UC San Diego in 2023, he conducted research at the Paul
Scherrer Institute in Switzerland and the Massachusetts Institute of
Technology in the United States. He is the recipient of the 2011 IBM
Research Prize, awarded for an outstanding Ph.D. thesis in
Computational Sciences.
